I need something to track cigars, I'm starting with this.
BOCK Y CA - CostCo - Very good cheap cigar. $37.50 for a box of 20, $2 a cigar. Excellent for the price. I believe these were Lonsdales, based on my recent trip to JR Cigars
in North Carolina.
Private Stock #6 - Harsh, not much flavor, unsatisfying. $3.
Macanudo Duke of York - Okay, nice flavor, long smoke (45 minutes) but not as good as other Macanudos. Around $6. Larger ring than I am used to now, although most Churchill cigars are good. Would pick another Macanudo.
Churchills last about an hour, I like a cigar to last 30 - 45 minutes.
Excalibur III - Strong, flavorful, good pull, long lasting, heady smoke.
Ashton 8-9-8 - Mellow smoke, nice flavor, a bit mild for my taste.
UPDATE: I bought more BOCK Y CA cigars at JR's in North Carolina, excellent deal on bundles.
BOCK Y CA Robusto
- The shortest of the three, bold, strong flavor, lasted 45 minutes, surprising for the size. Length 4.50, Ring 50, according to JR Cigars
web site. A larger ring size than some others I smoked recently, a real nice cigar overall.
BOCK Y CA Corona
- Slightly longer than the Robusto, haven't opened the bundle yet (My cigar box runneth over, I bought three bundles yesterday). Length 5.62, Ring 45. Looking forward to trying these as well. A decent smoke, good flavor. I think I prefer the Robusto of the three, but this is comparable.
BOCK Y CA Lonsdale
- Pretty sure these were the ones from CostCo, but even cheaper at JR's. Length 6.5, Ring 44. A good mellow flavor, but still strong. All three of these rated medium strength by JR's. My least favorite of the three. I now think the box I bought at CostCo was Double Coronas, preferable to the Lonsdale. Further consumption tells me that the Lonsdales are a little weak, hard to draw. I don't think I would buy these again, but I have a lot of each to try, so they may grow on me.
